flour and water come together to make a paste...and a lovely exfoliant...

WELLLL the good times keep on rolling here in Bonn and last night was no exception.
INternational NIght, a tradiation of IPSF the world over, took place last night and once again proved to be a monumental event showcasing the vast talents of delagates acrosssss the laaaaand.
As I have been newly adopted as a Dutch resident my new found Dutch friends called me up to particiapte in the traditional game of their national association. I have no idea what it is called, and couldnät pronounce it if I did frankly, but it emcompasses having your hair sprayed orange then bobbing for candy, if you will. However, you first have to get the candy out of a bowl of water, and then out of a bowl of flour. This is supposed to be quite a delicate process, but my fellow IPSF Exec Member and good Dutch friend Jelte decided it was time to turn things "fraternity" and my whole head was then dunked in water, then flour (totally disrupting the points of course...) and quickly began to congeal. I have had 2 showers and was thrown in the hotel pool (more on that later...) and am still finding floury bits in my hair. And nose. I counter attacked with a mix of Tae BO and judo and sent the bowl of flour careening in his direction but only managed to hit the crazy mc Tony from Australia and an innocent bystander named Tommy from New Zealand.
That is not the end of the storý, OH no. THis year my outgoing executive committee wanted to do our own act, so immediately after the flour and feathering I was called up to introduce our group and lead us all in a groundbreaking rendition of Bohmemian Rhapsody karaoke that brought the house DOWN. DOW-AN. We got rave reviews. Someone was taking pics, as soon as I get back and get my computer back in order I will be sure to post them on the website.
At some ungodly hour we ended up back at the hotel and someone thought it would be SO FUNNY to haul off and shove me into the pool. Kind of a , we´re walking, we ´re talking, BASH Myr´s in the pool. Ánd so is all the leftover flour.
Today marks the downslide to the Congress - only three days left. SOB!! SOB SOB SOB!! The worst part is leaving all these fabulous people behind. Just like Lost in Translation: different place, special people, time of your life. *cue music*
Anyhoo I am supposed to be helping chair a scientific symposium at the moment. Should get back to it. TOnight is OKTOBERFEST NIGHT - BREAK OUT THE LEIDERHOSEN!! Hmm, tubed meat likely to be present...
