After the weeks and weeks of build-up to Congress and the rotation of visitors that have come and gone through the flat it seems absolutely bizarre to be sitting here on the couch, the only one in the flat now and for a whole week. I had been looking forward to this time alone again - Tana is off to Tokyo (SO JEALOUS!) and Mark headed back to the UK, all visitors back home from Congress themselves - but now that it's here...am feeling a smidge empty.

Had sort of planned to do have a "bed-couch-bed" day. It has been literally years since I had a TRUE BCB day, when you wake up at 11 and immediately need a nap, venturing from the couch only for bathroom, snack, and evening shower purposes only to return to bed. Alas I had to do with waking up at 10:30 and trying to get some stuff done that I hadn't gotten around to yet (that being said, 10:30, WOW...) The majority of which was frustratingly spent on computer difficulties not worth delving into here.

I absolutely cannot believe that it has been a week since I returned home... two weeks since I held my public health workshops (which of course means two weeks since one of the best Saturday parties that ever was WHOOHOO!) Still sad, although was reminded of all the craziness and fun via an HOUR long phone call to Tony in Australia who remains a big fun nut bar and I hope we keep in touch. We have scheduled monthly gossip calls, HA HA.

But today I started getting SUPER excited for Cairo!! Sylvia is showing up and we will all be there, and I am getting ready for the FIP Challenge. PLUS then Sylvia and I will be spending two days in Paris after Cairo (then she gets to go to Porto..withOUT me GRRR!), and two days in Paris are ALWAYS a good thing. But Eygpt, I really believe, will be one of the most interesting places I will ever see. It is unfortunate that such caution and care must be taken as it would be amazing to just wander there, to experience it for what it is. Our final banquet will be in front of the pyramids and I think it will be magical.

The countdown is on to my 23rd country!

I am fending off a nap, although I don't know how much longer I can resist. Hmm perhaps will make a little snack first.
