Canada Day in Brazil

Well, it´s ironic really. Here it is July 1 first and I am celebrating Canada Day in Brazil (birthday shout out to my Mom, too). What is more ironic is that in my entire 20-whatever years I cannot remember a Canada Day when it didn´t rain. And now, just as I was enjoying a lovely day at Copacabana, the greenest-haziest-hugest clouds I have ever seen have moved in an completely obliterated the sun for the time being. You can´t even see the top of Sugar Loaf anymore. Methinks some interesting weather is about to surface...could be a great show.
This afternoon I am contemplating a tour, perhaps even a Rain Forrest tour if said tour does not require of its participants too much trekking or things of the like. Ideally it would lead on a gentle trail through a well flora and fauna-ed area ending at a tikki bar under a waterfall. We will see what options are available.
Must go de-sand. Thinking tomorrow I will stay by the pool. Is much less gritty and is in close proximity to indoor bathroom facilities...
